The Dark Sire Literary Journal (TDS) is now an online literary journal that publishes weekly featured creatives (authors, artists, poets), monthly serialized fiction, and twice yearly paperback issues (Fall and Spring). The journal specializes in short fiction, poetry, art, serializations, and screenplays in the subgenres of gothic, horror, fantasy, psychological realism, and now MYSTERY/DETECTIVE. New features and author interviews are released every Wednesday and Saturday (respectively) at 11am (EST), with serialized fiction released the 9th of every month, all in The Dark Forest. All online content is then combined and published in beautiful paperbacks twice yearly.
Founded in 2019 by Bre Stephens, TDS is a platform for old-school genre and literary fiction. Its "founding fathers" were all greats in their genres: Edgar Allan Poe (Gothic/Detective), Mary Shelley (Horror), J. R. R. Tolkien (Fantasy), and Fyordor Dostoevsky (Psychological Realism). Continuing in their foosteps, TDS endeavors to publish works that mirror and reflect the darker toned and themed subject matter of the past. All works printed in TDS adhere to the prescription of serving readers with creepy, eerie, twisted content that harkens back to an older tradition of storytelling, subject matter, and potraiture. The Dark Sire is primarily available in digital format with limited paperback/hardcover formats. Individual issues are available, as is monothly and yearly memberships to TDS content (coming soon!). Visit the TDS Store to buy an a past issue.
*TDS does not print science fiction, weird/cosmic fiction, or apocalyptic fiction.
