Bre Stephens

Bre Stephens is a writer who specializes in short fiction, poetry, and screenplays. Her gothic, horror, and psychological work is influenced by Edgar Allan Poe, Anne Rice, and Stephen King. In addition to being a writer, she also has 13 years of experience as an editor, educator, creative writing judge, and writing coach. Bre created TDS in March 2019 when she was asked how she would give back to the writing community. Her goal was to provide a space for writers to be heard without fear of censorship or judgment, to "Give a Voice to the Voiceless!" Bre holds a BA in Art History, an M.Ed. in ESL, and an M.A. in English and Creative Writing: Screenwriting. In her spare time, she likes to watch anime, read WebToons, and study world culture. S.M. Cook
Graphics & Design S.M. Cook is a writer of fiction and poetry. She began writing poems at around 6 years old, with her first real exposure to poems by Shel Silverstein. Though she was influenced early on by Jack Prelutsky and Edgar Allen Poe, her current poetry is influenced the two lines of lyrics in Dark Tower: The Gunslinger by Stephen King. Her poetry and fiction work has been published in magazines and anthologies, which includes The Dark Sire. S.M. Cook is the current DARK SIRE, the award winner of the overall award from the 2nd Annual TDS Creative Awards, which was presented to her by the first DARK SIRE award winner David Crerand. She is currently working on her book series, Kyuuketsuki, which was serialized in TDS Issues 1-6 and is now being re-released on The Dark Forest. S.M. enjoys Japanese literature, poetry, and culture, as well as listen to music and play Ticket to Ride. |
Maureen Mancini Amaturo
Event Planner Maureen Mancini Amaturo, a NY-based fashion/beauty writer and columnist with an MFA in Creative Writing, teaches Creative Writing, produces literary events, and leads the Sound Shore Writers Group, which she founded in 2007. Her many publications – short stories, creative non-fiction, essays, poetry, and comedy – appear in numerous publications including The Dark Sire (for which "Once Bitten: A Vampire's Lament" was nominated for the 2020 Bram Stoker Award and the 2021 TDS Creative Awards), Coffin Bell Journal, Boned, Flash Non-Fiction Food Anthology (Woodhall Press), Things That Go Bump Anthology (Sez Publishing), Film Noir Before It Was Cool (Weasel Press), and The Attack of the Killer Couch (Weasel Press). At The 2009 Edgar Awards, Maureen received a Certificate of Recognition for her efforts in promoting the works of Edgar Allan Poe. |
